The Death of Saul

31:1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel, and the men of Israel fled before the Philistines and fell slain on Mount Gilboa. 2 And the Philistines overtook Saul and his sons, and the Philistines struck down Jonathan and Abinadab and Malchi-shua, the sons of Saul. 3 The battle pressed hard against Saul, and the archers found him, and he was badly wounded by the archers. 4 Then Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and mistreat me.” But his armor-bearer would not, for he feared greatly. Therefore Saul took his own sword and fell upon it.

9:9 Jesus left that place, and as he walked along, he saw a tax collector, named Matthew, sitting in his office. He said to him, "Follow me." Matthew got up and followed him.
9:10 (*)While Jesus was having a meal in Matthew's house,(h) many tax collectors and other outcasts came and joined Jesus and his disciples at the table.
9:11 Some Pharisees saw this and asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with such people?"
9:12 Jesus heard them and answered, "People who are well do not need a doctor, but only those who are sick.
9:13 (*)Go and find out what is meant by the scripture that says: 'It is kindness that I want, not animal sacrifices.' I have not come to call respectable people, but outcasts."

40:1 Some time later the king of Egypt's wine steward and his chief baker offended the king.
40:2 He was angry with these two officials
40:3 and put them in prison in the house of the captain of the guard, in the same place where Joseph was being kept.
40:4 They spent a long time in prison, and the captain assigned Joseph as their servant.
40:5 One night there in prison the wine steward and the chief baker each had a dream, and the dreams had different meanings.
40:6 When Joseph came to them in the morning, he saw that they were upset.
40:7 He asked them, "Why do you look so worried today?"
40:8 They answered, "Each of us had a dream, and there is no one here to explain what the dreams mean." "It is God who gives the ability to interpret dreams," Joseph said. "Tell me your dreams."
40:9 So the wine steward said, "In my dream there was a grapevine in front of me
40:10 with three branches on it. As soon as the leaves came out, the blossoms appeared, and the grapes ripened.
40:11 I was holding the king's cup; so I took the grapes and squeezed them into the cup and gave it to him."
40:12 Joseph said, "This is what it means: the three branches are three days.
40:13 In three days the king will release you, pardon you, and restore you to your position. You will give him his cup as you did before when you were his wine steward.
40:14 But please remember me when everything is going well for you, and please be kind enough to mention me to the king and help me get out of this prison.
40:15 After all, I was kidnapped from the land of the Hebrews, and even here in Egypt I didn't do anything to deserve being put in prison."
40:16 When the chief baker saw that the interpretation of the wine steward's dream was favorable, he said to Joseph, "I had a dream too; I was carrying three breadbaskets on my head.
40:17 In the top basket there were all kinds of baked goods for the king, and the birds were eating them."
40:18 Joseph answered, "This is what it means: the three baskets are three days.
40:19 In three days the king will release you-and have your head cut off! Then he will hang your body on a pole, and the birds will eat your flesh."
40:20 On his birthday three days later the king gave a banquet for all his officials; he released his wine steward and his chief baker and brought them before his officials.
40:21 He restored the wine steward to his former position,
40:22 but he executed the chief baker. It all happened just as Joseph had said.
40:23 But the wine steward never gave Joseph another thought-he forgot all about him.

Garden of Earthly Delight Paradise
When the LORD(f) God made the universe,
2:5 there were no plants on the earth and no seeds had sprouted, because he had not sent any rain, and there was no one to cultivate the land;
2:6 but water would come up from beneath the surface and water the ground.
2:7 (*)Then the LORD God took some soil from the ground(g) and formed a man(h) out of it; he breathed life-giving breath into his nostrils and the man began to live.
2:8 Then the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the East, and there he put the man he had formed.
2:9 (*)He made all kinds of beautiful trees grow there and produce good fruit. In the middle of the garden stood the tree that gives life and the tree that gives knowledge of what is good and what is bad.(i)
2:10 A stream flowed in Eden and watered the garden; beyond Eden it divided into four rivers.
2:11 The first river is the Pishon; it flows around the country of Havilah.
2:12 (Pure gold is found there and also rare perfume and precious stones.)
2:13 The second river is the Gihon; it flows around the country of Cush. (j)
2:14 The third river is the Tigris, which flows east of Assyria, and the fourth river is the Euphrates.
2:15 Then the LORD God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to cultivate it and guard it.
2:16 He told him, "You may eat the fruit of any tree in the garden,
2:17 except the tree that gives knowledge of what is good and what is bad.(k) You must not eat the fruit of that tree; if you do, you will die the same day."
2:18 Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to live alone. I will make a suitable companion to help him."
2:19 So he took some soil from the ground and formed all the animals and all the birds. Then he brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and that is how they all got their names.
2:20 So the man named all the birds and all the animals; but not one of them was a suitable companion to help him.
2:21 Then the LORD God made the man fall into a deep sleep, and while he was sleeping, he took out one of the man's ribs and closed up the flesh.
2:22 He formed a woman out of the rib and brought her to him.
2:23 Then the man said, "At last, here is one of my own kind- Bone taken from my bone, and flesh from my flesh. 'Woman' is her name because she was taken out of man."(l)
2:24 (*)That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united with his wife, and they become one.
2:25 The man and the woman were both naked, but they were not embarrassed.

肉中的肉;

Revelation Chapter 5

5:1 (*)I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who sits on the throne; it was covered with writing on both sides and was sealed with seven seals.
5:2 And I saw a mighty angel, who announced in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?"
5:3 But there was no one in heaven or on earth or in the world below(b) who could open the scroll and look inside it.
5:4 I cried bitterly because no one could be found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside it.
5:5 (*)Then one of the elders said to me, "Don't cry. Look! The Lion from Judah's tribe, the great descendant of David, has won the victory, and he can break the seven seals and open the scroll."
5:6 (*)Then I saw a Lamb standing in the center of the throne, surrounded by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb appeared to have been killed. It had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God that have been sent through the whole earth.
5:7 The Lamb went and took the scroll from the right hand of the one who sits on the throne.
5:8 (*)As he did so, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each had a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of God's people.
5:9 (*)They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to break open its seals. For you were killed, and by your sacrificial death you bought for God people from every tribe, language, nation, and race.
5:10 (*)You have made them a kingdom of priests to serve our God, and they shall rule on earth."
5:11 (*)Again I looked, and I heard angels, thousands and millions of them! They stood around the throne, the four living creatures, and the elders,
5:12 and sang in a loud voice: "The Lamb who was killed is worthy to receive power, wealth, wisdom, and strength, honor, glory, and praise!"
5:13 And I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, in the world below, and in the sea-all living beings in the universe-and they were singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, be praise and honor, glory and might, forever and ever!"
5:14 The four living creatures answered, "Amen!" And the elders fell down and worshiped.

揭开上面的印;
来事奉我们的上帝;

esther Chapter 6

The King Honors Mordecai
1That same night the king could not get to sleep, so he had the official records of the empire brought and read to him. 2(*)The part they read included the account of how Mordecai had uncovered a plot to assassinate the king-the plot made by Bigthana and Teresh, the two palace eunuchs who had guarded the king's rooms. 3The king asked, "How have we honored and rewarded Mordecai for this?"
His servants answered, "Nothing has been done for him."
4"Are any of my officials in the palace?" the king asked.
Now Haman had just entered the courtyard; he had come to ask the king to have Mordecai hanged on the gallows that was now ready. 5So the servants answered, "Haman is here, waiting to see you."
"Show him in," said the king.
6So Haman came in, and the king said to him, "There is someone I wish very much to honor. What should I do for this man?"
Haman thought to himself, "Now who could the king want to honor so much? Me, of course."
7-8So he answered the king, "Have royal robes brought for this man-robes that you yourself wear. Have a royal ornament(f) put on your own horse. 9Then have one of your highest noblemen dress the man in these robes and lead him, mounted on the horse, through the city square. Have the nobleman announce as they go: 'See how the king rewards someone he wishes to honor!'"
10Then the king said to Haman, "Hurry and get the robes and the horse, and provide these honors for Mordecai the Jew. Do everything for him that you have suggested. You will find him sitting at the entrance of the palace."
11So Haman got the robes and the horse, and he put the robes on Mordecai. Mordecai got on the horse, and Haman led him through the city square, announcing to the people as they went: "See how the king rewards a man he wishes to honor!"
12Mordecai then went back to the palace entrance while Haman hurried home, covering his face in embarrassment. 13He told his wife and all his friends everything that had happened to him. Then she and those wise friends of his told him, "You are beginning to lose power to Mordecai. He is a Jew, and you cannot overcome him. He will certainly defeat you."

Garden of Earthly Delight - Hell
Jheronimus Bosch(holland) ca. 1450 – 1516

Numbers 16:31-35
31
And as soon as he had finished speaking all these words, the ground under them split apart. 32 And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the people who belonged to Korah and all their goods. 33 So they and all that belonged to them went down alive into Sheol, and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly. 34 And all Israel who were around them fled at their cry, for they said, “Lest the earth swallow us up!” 35 And fire came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men offering the incense.

The Animals Board Noah's Ark
Jan Brueghel the Elder 1568 – 1625

Genesis 7:1-7

1 Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation. 2 Take with you seven pairs of all clean animals, [1] the male and his mate, and a pair of the animals that are not clean, the male and his mate, 3 and seven pairs [2] of the birds of the heavens also, male and female, to keep their offspring alive on the face of all the earth. 4 For in seven days I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living thing [3] that I have made I will blot out from the face of the ground.” 5 And Noah did all that the Lord had commanded him. 6 Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came upon the earth. 7 And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him went into the ark to escape the waters of the flood.

[1] 7:2 Or seven of each kind of clean animal
[2] 7:3 Or seven of each kind
[3] 7:4 Hebrew all existence; also verse 23

7:1
